Vibration you could hear from the corridor
Thirteen blades, each one filling at a slightly different rate from an edge gate. Mass distribution wandered by shot, and the imbalance showed up as noise at 2,400 rpm.

Re-gated impeller tool holds ±0.10 mm balance straight off the press — the customer's hand-weighting station was deleted.
Imported impellers arrived out of balance often enough that the OEM was weighting them by hand on the line.
Re-gated the tool to a centre hot drop, tuned pack pressure per blade, and locked the resin to a single PP-GF20 batch supplier.
Balance held straight off the tool. The hand-weighting station was deleted from the customer's line.
Thirteen blades, each one filling at a slightly different rate from an edge gate. Mass distribution wandered by shot, and the imbalance showed up as noise at 2,400 rpm.
A centre hot drop makes the flow front radially symmetric — every blade sees the same pressure history. Pack profile was then tuned per blade set on a moulding trial matrix.
Every lot ships with a balance and dimensional report. The OEM audits the report, not the parts — and repurposed the weighting bench for final packing.
Every line was measured on the same programme, before and after the change.

“We budgeted for a weighting cell for the next three years. We deleted the line item instead.”
